Prairie Middle School’s premier choral ensemble, Prairie Voices, under the direction of Prairie choir teacher Philip Drozda, performed at the Colorado Music Educators Association Conference on Jan. 29.
Fifty-two outstanding middle school choir students from the Cherry Creek School District participated in the Middle School All-State Choir program on Feb. 5 and 6.
Congratulations to two of our wonderful teachers for the Distinguished Teacher of the Year Award 2014-2015: Orchestra Teacher Chen Wu who is in her 11th year here at Prairie and to Math Teacher Caitlin Kindred who is in her 6th year here at Prairie. Parent-Teacher Conferences will be on Wednesday, March 4th from 3:30p.m. to 7:30p.m. and Thursday, March 5th from 7:30a.m. to 3:30p.m. You will receive an invite from your child's teachers if a conference meeting is required.
Prairie received over $4,700 in grants from the Cherry Creek Schools Foundation. We received 5 grants that will help support our vision and values. special presentation on “Engaging Boys of Color II” by Dr. Lamarr Shields, a
national expert on discipline, behavior and engaging males of color. Dr.
Sheilds offers ready-to-use strategies with objectives, materials, language and
examples to help parents and educators understand the cultural and
developmental identities, expressions and learning styles of African American
