Principal's Corner

Hello Prairie Middle School community,

Contreraz_John.jpgWelcome to the Prairie Middle School web site.  I am fortunate to be the proud principal of Prairie middle school.  As we venture through the 2018-2019 school year together, it is my hope that our website is a resource for students, parents, families, and the greater Overland-Prairie community.

This is my first year at Prairie, I couldn’t be more excited to join such a strong school community.  I look forward getting to know each one of your stories, and sharing mine. I come to you with a wealth of educational leadership experience in Cherry Creek at the middle school level and outside of CCSD at the high school level.  Connecting with people in meaningful ways to increase student growth, providing a safe environment, and truly serving the community are a few tenets you will see in my leadership here at Prairie.

As you know, in Cherry Creek, we are dedicated to excellence.  As we work together throughout the 2018-2019 school year, the efforts of our leadership team, teachers and staff will be grounded in our values.  We will strive to make sure all students are on a college and career trajectory, and examine our systems to ensure all students are included in excellence.

I look forward to growing our school together, helping our students develop a passion for learning, and continuing to advance our school in line with our school and district values.

With gratitude,

John Contreraz
Principal | Prairie Middle School
